Avenger Part 3: Sins of the Past

What have I done?!
I've killed my best friend.
It wasn't my place
To bring his life to an end.

I should have left it to the law
Oh, what would Marina say?!
She'd probably hate me
And shun me away.

There's nothing worth living for
I can't live with this sin in my past.
It's too unbearable as it is
And who knows how long it will last.

Marina, I am truly sorry
For all the pain I've caused
But I was blind with no heart before
I should have taken time to pause.

Lying on his bed
Avenger looked at the stars above
Praying that Heaven would send
To him his only love-for one more glimpse.

Slowly out of nowhere
A form arrayed in white appeared.
Her features were so delicate.
To touch her one would fear
She'd fall apart.

Her soft green eyes gazed upon
The repentent man.
Who had done that terrible deed
On that planet of sand.

Her long brown hair curled about her face
And she spoke gently with so much grace.

"Jaecar, my love, I forgive you."
She told the sleeping form.
"But still you must pay
And you shan't awake in the coming morn."

"Instead you will join me
Where we'll be together.
No more will we be separate.
Our love shall last forever."

She touched his face with her hand
And his breath ceased.
And in the full moonlight one could see
Two figures holding each other
Although they were deceased.

It was not Avenger
That had come back to Marina
But the Jaecar who loved
That beautiful ballerina.
