Autumn's Shackles

The summer's ending signals horrid Change
Change, who keeps me trapped and bound
In chains of cold, unfeeling iron
I am trapped once more by society
In a few days, the door of the cage
Will close in around me and lock me in

Tomorrow is going to be here all too soon
All I want to do is run away from myself
I want to keep running from my cage

But what do you do when you
Just can't keep running anymore
And the dream begins to end?

No one seems to see the shackles
that tie me to my cage
Unheard by all, I cry softly
For the end of my summer freedom
