Always thinking of tomorrow

Listening to words full of sorrow

Helpless in this state of mind

Lost in a place I cannot find

Determined to continue forward

Expectations and standards never lowered

Fear rising of what it might bring

But I will never let it sting

Times do change and you go on

Seeing tomorrow and waking at dawn

Looking past your set determent

I will find the answers in my own encouragement

Coming forward and succeeding at last

Have pride and restrain, but don’t forget your past

The past is what brought you here

Everything that’s happened, especially the fear

It’s all come together to make who you are

Things couldn’t have been too bad if you made it this far.

Words are spoken, some remembered, some forgotten

Forgotten in the mist of the flight between 4 and 10

Things happen in an unexpected turn of events

Even when you try to hide under the make believe tents

A havenless spell, a much hated favor

Childish wishing is your only savor

Yearning for time to roll back and start all over

It’s not that hard to stray from the old St. Dover

Multitude and viscosity will forever remain

Like red wine, it all leaves a stain

Inebriated in this state of mind but yet still sober

Washing in the cold night wind until it’s over

Time consuming helplessness is brooding

All this wasted time has been spent eluding

Struck in the head with the blunt end

Hateful mockery delivered by a true friend

Brought here by the last thing expected

Unable to be reassured when rejected

Spiraling down to the impeccant low

Showing no mercy, not going with the flow

Non-conformist in your own right

Listening to the mind instead of the fright

No such thing as ‘caught up in it all’

For following others you’re sure to fall

Imperial since the day you were born

Above all else, they can only scorn

Morphing a dynasty into slums

You do wrong we cut off your thumbs

Die tomorrow but live life full today

Some change might happen and you could stay

Never thinking of horizontal readiness

The world is in your hands, be merciless

Forget the change of heart and stay cruel

It doesn’t matter; every last one of them is a fool

Take it away; ending all the sorrow

It’s not looking any better for tomorrow

So much work is starting to unfold

The ledge outside my window has me sold

Its ten dollars to leave, but it’s free to enter

It’s harder to get back to the center

Find the sane mind inside that head of yours

Show who’s the boss and make them beg on all fours

Make it known for all to see

Show them how they all wish they could be

Stand tall and proud, under complete control

They disobey and heads will roll

Try and make them hear it all

They could cause your fall

Feigning innocence to climb up the rope

Soak your competitors’ with soap

Watch them fall and you gain the win

Don’t work hard enough, then you take the spin

Hiding in the shadows will get you no where

In the game of life all is fair

Deepening wounds break open in this mist

The haze hits you like an iron fist

Punched in the face and left for dead

Stuck on this ground full of lead

Hinting at a world with all happy endings

Always looking forward to make new findings

Meticulously fusing it all into one

Torturous mingling is everything but fun

Lowering in the shadows, hiding from hoards

Wandering in and out of the boards

Singing the tunes of an outdated cry

Overwhelming voices do nothing but sigh

Turning the corner and ending up lost

It’s getting darker and colder, just look at the frost

Winding down and loosing you’re face

Falling to the floor in a heap of grace

Always thinking of tomorrow

Listening to words full of sorrow
