Huntress

(Prologue)

It was a dark and stormy night, and all was quiet. The stirring of the trees knew of the dark looming figure that walked beneath them, that came from beneath them. Its red eyes glowed with fiery rage. A growl came from the pit of it's stomach.

"It's coming, its coming." The old man repeated in a panic. His eyes roamed the house at all the shadows, praying deep inside that it wasn't nearby. "Its going to kill us."
The women nearby called Diana grabbed a hold of her father's hand. "What is coming?" She asked.
"The evil beast from hell." He answered, and in a quieter voice he spoke. "She is called the huntress. She is a wicked beast, the soul mate of the Dark Lord. And a soul Mate, she is, for he had captured her soul when he first laid eyes upon her. She was once known as the Moonchild. A beautiful creature with great power, and a heavy burden. She had let her guard down, and the devil took her and captured her soul. Slowly he consumed her heart in darkness until she was his complete match. A soul as dark as his. Now with her great power she roams this world and does his bidding."
Diana laughed. "That was just a story for children. That was how we kept them under control. You told me that one too when I was about her age." She said as she looked down at her daughter who held onto her mother's leg tightly. "I am sure whatever is going on in this house is just a trick from those nasty kids next door."
"The story I told you was true, and now she has come for us." He said.
"I think I better tell the doctor to lower your morphine intake."
He shook his head. "She is coming!"

The huntress crept through the grass. Growled as lightening flashed over head. It's eyes radiated from the light. It's claws extended.

"She will come to kill me, and kill anyone in this house."He said.

The Huntress begun to run. Moving faster and faster. She roared as she jumped through the window in the kitchen, and landed inside as pieces of glass fell all around her like diamonds.

Diana screamed, her son Michael ran behind the couch. The old man only sat their watching the door frame to the kitchen. The power had been out, no light lit the room except when lightning flashed. They could feel the rumble on the ground, and the chill that now swallowed the room.

The beast walked slowly, savoring the moment by moment fear that swelled up in the pathetic humans. She waited for the time to be right. Waited in a sickening gleeful rage.

"Father?" Diana called out softly.
He answered in a whisper. "She's here! In the kitchen."
Diana looked at the kitchen door frame. She saw the eyes appear. Glowing red eyes, and a deep growl. Diana kept her son's head down so he wouldn't see it, but her son was still afraid either way.
The eyes were not high enough for a human. What was it that starred back at them. The chill running down their backs caused terror to ripple through the house. The house reaked of fear.

The lightning flashed and illuminated the room. The beast roared and pounced.

"Father!" Diana screamed as she saw the creature jump through the air.
The creature was a black, giant tiger. It landed on her father, pinning him down with sharp red claws. The Huntress bit the man's groin, and pulled away before letting go.
Her father could not scream, the pain was too immense. Blood spurted between his legs steadily. The Huntress took one hard glare into the man's eyes, though her jaws did not move, somehow they heard a voice.
"You have avoided me for the last time. Age was your true killer. Die, Demon Slayer.!" The Huntress hissed
With that she bit the old man's head off and spat it out on the floor. The body convulsed, then collapsed. Blood stained the chair.
Diana was already fleeing to the door, but when she turned the knob, it would not open. "No." She cried.
Her son clung to her legs and screamed, tears rolling down his cheeks like a fast flowing river.
When the shadow tiger crossed the living room and walked down the hallway. blocking off the two's only means of escape, they gave into their deaths.
"Nooo!" Diana screamed hysterically, hiding her son behind her.
The beast pounced, and slashed at the women until the screams ended. Her son just starred at her, the sobs had ended, he only looked at her.
She starred back, but decided not to attack. Something about him was repelling, and she wanted nothing to do with him.
The Huntress roared, and ran off. Just as she was running, a fiery porthole opened. She jumped through and both disappeared.
The boy looked down at her mom. "I'll kill her."
