Recess
I sit out,
Day after day.
Wanting to join in,
Knowing I can't stay.
I feel lonely,
I read my book.
Can't glance up,
Knowing I must look.
Running, laughing,
Talking, playing.
Sitting still,
I fell myself swaying.
Slowly I set it down
My walls start to crumble.
Seeing their fun,
I start to stumble
Into their game,
Into their life,
I stand up,
And end my strife.
