Hello Angel - Poem - Sept '04

"Hello Angel," the child says to the light,
"Is it my time to go now, to leave this place?
Have you finally come to take me away?"
She says, with a smile upon her face.

"Hello Angel," the child gently cries,
"Have you finally come to save me?
Have I at last served my sentence?"
She cries; her eyes filled with glee.

"Hello Angel," the child sweetly sings,
"Please don't keep me in suspense,
I've been waiting for this all my life."
She weeps; her stare so intense.

"Hello Angel," the child softly weeps,
"You have seen my terrifying world,
Please rescue me from this torture."
With this, the angel smiles at the girl.

"Hello Angel," the child quickly chatters,
"Why do you smile at me that way?
Am I really right, is that really it?"
The angel nods, and begins to say,

"My child, you are so innocent,
But many horrors you have seen,
I've been listening closely,
I've seen you shout and scream.

I've seen the life you're living,
And decided your time has come.
You don't deserve this nightmare.
It's over, that's it. You're done."
