Warnings: What ain’t mine ain’t mine. And something nasty may soon happen…

The Enega Warriors

Chapter 22 – Dorotea’s Dire Destruction Warnings: Countdown to Doomsday

August 9th, 2025, The Tropical Lotus Hotel

Bobby woke up early that morning, and reached a hand around Katherine to hug her. He thought about all the events that were going on. Later that day the entire group were going to be attending an awards ceremony at the Islanders’ Assembly, the legislature for Tenshimara. After that they’d be returning to the Palace in Nu’u Sara.

He got out a book and began reading in the increasing sunlight that filtered into the room through the curtains. Eventually Katherine woke up. She smiled and turned to look at her fur-covered fiancé. "Good morning, ia ranai," she said, using the words he taught her for "my love" in Naomian.

"Good morning, Katherine, ‘morea!" replied Bobby, using one of the Pavonian terms of endearment.

Katherine sat up and spread her kula. A large pattern of red and pink lights forming a heart appeared, then a couple of smaller hearts appeared. "What is that thing? It’s a love symbol, but what is it?"

"It’s called a heart," said Bobby, "it represents the heart here!" He took her hand and placed it against her chest. "You feel it?"

"So that’s what you mean," she replied.

"Yes it is."

She began flashing patterns that resembled a pair of interlocking horseshoes. "It’s a symbol of two hugging," she said, "that’s what means love to us."

"I can see why," said Bobby. The two hugged, and he wrapped his wings around her.

"How did you sleep?"

"Alright, you?"

"I always have problems in a strange bed," she said.

"I’m sometimes like that," commented Bobby.

"Once I was sleeping with a cousin of mine, and she lay in such a way that my kula was hurt."

"I’ve woken up with a sore tail as well."

The two snuggled up to each other.

"Katherine, why don’t we get a little closer?"

"I’d love that…" The phone rang. She reached over and grabbed it. "Ok, we’ll be down soon." She hung up. "Don’t worry, we can do it tonight. But now it’s time for breakfast."

"Sure thing," he said, as he got up and put on a Metallica t-shirt and an orange sarong. They left the room, bringing Katherine’s staff with them.

Kuwachobee and Sami were sweaty from an intense sexual encounter. Sami was still inside his long-haired lover, and they kissed. The phone rang, and Kuwachobee grabbed it with one of her braids. "Yes, we’ll be there soon, we just have to get ready. No, nothing’s wrong with us. We’ll be there."

"Time for breakfast?" asked Sami.

"Yes it is!"

The two rolled over to one side to grab a patchwork dress for Kuwachobee and a shirt and Bermuda shorts for Sami. They uncoupled only when it was absolutely necessary to get dressed.

"I just hope that things will calm down soon," said Kuwachobee. "Between the LLL and the Glocks and Al Harb and the Worm, it’s just too much!"

"I know what you mean. I’ve actually lived through better times. Oh well, I guess things come in cycles."

"I can understand that, I just don’t like that the wheel seems to be jammed in the ‘worst’ position."

Sarona and Suki were already in the main dining area of the Sun and Moon Restaurant, waiting for the others to arrive. They already had plans for what to do after breakfast and before the awards ceremony. They were going to visit a dojo. Whatever dojo they could find. And if there was a chance to watch a class, they’d do it. If they could challenge a sensei, even better. Suki saw Sarona as more and more of a sister, and not just because of their shared interests in martial arts. She filled every void in the sisterly department. She had a younger biological brother who wouldn’t give her the time of day, and then in her life as an adopted princess, she only had those arrogant cousins who picked on her because she lacked Faerian wings. And they got along better with her new mother, Princess Zakila, than she did.

The first ones to come down were Darryn and Vanessa. "Did you have a good night?" asked Sarona.

"We certainly did," replied Darryn.

"I can’t wait to return to the palace," added Vanessa. "And this morning we saw a report about the planet Neptune."

"That’s the blue planet?" asked Darryn.

"Yes it is, sweetie."

Korrina was the next one to arrive. She grabbed a glass of water and immediately chugged it down.

"What’s up with you?" asked Suki.

"I have a terrible taste in my mouth," said Korrina.

"What is it?"

"I don’t want to talk about it. It’s been here since yesterday."

Soon everyone else arrived. "Good, now we can get started," said Suki. Their breakfast was available as an all-you-can eat buffet. They enjoyed the myriad of food available.

The Islanders’ Assembly, That Afternoon

The group were escorted into the Lotus Room, the main legislative chamber of the Assembly. Two hundred and ten seats were arranged in a horse-shoe pattern on different levels. The room was carpeted in white and purple, and gold and red adorned the walls. A passageway came through a gap between seats, which was the path that the Enega Warriors took.

Hanging above was an ornate chandelier, and at the front of the room was a raised table with several seats, and three flags. One flag was a blue and purple lotus on a white background, with a palm tree growing out of it. That was the flag of Tenshimara. The next flag was the familiar red disc. That was Japan’s flag. The final flag had a red background with a white chrysanthemum. That was the Emperor’s flag.

The Enega Warriors were all dressed up, except for Korrina and Vanessa, who simply wore red cloaks and pearl necklaces, and nothing else. Sami wore a charcoal-colored suit with a navy blue tie. The other males in the group wore dark blue jackets and matching sarongs. The females wore dresses. They respectfully bowed as the Tenshimara First Minister, Kuma Saiyatiri walked in. He was short and had greying hair. After, the Japanese national anthem began to play on the loudspeaker system. The Tenno or Emperor then came in, the Enega Warriors rose, then they bowed to him. He wore a special blue and green "Tenshimara" kimono.

After a long speech, he invited them up individually to receive the red, white, and silver award. Suki and Sarona spoke for them, as they knew Japanese better than the rest of them.

They were profusely thanked, and told that they would always be valued. One thing that they noticed, though, was that the prime minister of Japan proper was absent, and only six stations and two newspapers from that area had representation. Sarona wondered if I was those racist leftovers.

After the ceremony was over, the group was taken to the local airport, where the Red Zeppelin was parked, once again red and devoid of its ugly decorations. They flew to the Palace.

August 14th, Nu’u Sara

The Enega Warriors were having breakfast with Lusi, Jack, Darius, and Aua. Darius and Aua would be returning to school that afternoon, after the summer holidays. They would both be entering Grade Five. They’d like seeing their friends again, but things would change. Last year they got to go there by themselves taking the Aga and walking, while they now had to go by unmarked vehicle, due to concerns involving the Glocks, Al Harb, and the LLL. And the latest news was that the LLL had joined up with DOWN and numerous ex-Glocks, and they were now known as the Commonwealth of Crooks. So Darius and Aua had to ride in a vehicle that couldn’t look too good, and a couple of apartments in the building across the street from the school where used for police forces to do a stakeout.

As was done the previous years, their first day at school was also going to be their first day wearing new outfits. Aua was wearing a bright green dress with yellow accents, while Darius was in a beige shirt and a red floral-patterned sarong.

Lusi, as usual, was fussing over the details of whether or not they had their bags ready, and what they were to do and not do.

"They’re getting bigger," said Jack, "don’t worry so much."

"They’re my children. Even when they’re 35 I’ll still worry."

"Are you excited?" asked Bobby,

"Yes, I’ll see all my friends again," said Darius.

"Me too," added Aua.

They continued talking while having breakfast, and Lusi was worried, this time about whether or not their gym clothes were packed. "Gym is TOMMOROW," laughed Darius, as he showed his parents a copy of the schedule. Lusi felt slightly stupid for that worrying.

Later that day, the Enega Warriors got a message. On the 23rd of August, a G-9 summit would be held in Shanghai, China. Ai’a’ivea was invited along as an observer, so Lusi would be going, and the Enega Warriors were going to go with her to act as body guards. One of the things on the agenda was the possibility of Ai’a’ivea being admitted, making it the G-10. But the main issues were what to do with dangerous technology, and what PD/DP should have done to prevent the Glocks from acquiring the teleportation technology.

August 18th

Katherine and Bobby walked along a beach, holding hands. They passed along one section with a long boardwalk on one side. It was officially called the Coastal Boardwalk. The couple walked on the sand, away from skaters and runners on the boardwalk. They passed underneath a viaduct that extended onto a pier. Then they came to a more secluded part of the beach, with ocean on one side and foliage on the other. The afternoon sun shone brightly, and birds sung, while waves crashed.

Katherine noticed some strange seashells. Bobby told her about the various mollusks. There was also a starfish, that he gave to her. "The thing about these creatures," he said, "if you tear it into pieces, each piece becomes a new starfish."

"Kind of like an ocean’s joke."

"A what?"

"It sort of looks like a worm but with many pieces of rock attached to it. It sometimes makes big bubbles, and it can change its colors. So we call it an ocean’s joke."

The two continued along the beach. They came to a strange ocean-side restaurant that was shaped like a wooden UFO. It was even called "The UFO."

They ordered an ice-cream of coconut, love-fruit and berries. After they finished, Katherine commented "Dorotea really liked that kind of fruit, it’s smell was in here…"

"Yes it was," came the voice of Dorotea. Darryn came in, holding the Enagi Staff, along with the rest of the Enega Warriors.

"We have to go to some place more private," instructed Dorotea, "I have bad news for you."

Bobby paid the bill, and they left. Further down the beach Dorotea told them to stop.

"What you are about to see may frighten you, but it is the truth, the near future will be a difficult time. What you see may be the future, except for the part of it that is. Katherine and Darryn, hold the staff, the oters will hold hands in a circle.

"I wonder what’s in the future?" asked Sarona.

"Future events such as these will affect you in the future," laughed Sami.

"Are you a fortune teller too?" asked Korrina.

"Not in the sense that you know it, but some enagi can see the Possibility and the Probability," explained Dorotea.

"The what and what?" asked Suki.

"It loses something in translation."

"I see."

"Now, CONCENTRATE! Keep your eyes open, but keep your hands held." The crystal began glowing very brightly. "Look at the sun."

They looked up at the sun, which turned a pale yellow, and then began flashing every color of the rainbow, as did the sky, and strange patterns began racing around the sun, while a loud voice-drone noise could be heard, first a soprano, followed by one much lower. Lightning flashed from the sun, and the group felt a spinning sensation. An image of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom meeting the President of the United States appeared. The two were standing in front of a Chinese monument. There was a bright flash of light and a bomb appeared. It let out a beeping noise before it detonated. An enormous white mushroom-shaped cloud was seen, and screams were heard. The sky darkened, then lit up again. They saw the same beach, but it looked worse. Matteo came running down the beach, wearing an orange sarong and a white shirt.

"GET BACK TO WORK!" shouted a voice, and Matteo was caned by a man in a white bodysuit and a black bowler hat. In the distance, slaves of all nationalities were building a dock.

There was another flash of darkness. "Remember," said Dorotea, "some of what you see is possible, others are the truth."

What they saw next was a surreal montage of scenes from Europe, North America, Japan, and China, where different forces took over countries. A holographic image of Al-Kumr appeared, laughing, before he was replaced by an image of Ravage laughing, which in turn was replaced by Obo and Jaci, which were in turn replaced by someone else, but he was obscured by a veil of smoke. The lights darkened again, and more quick scenes of destruction and devastation unrolled before their eyes.

The last vision began with a bright flash of light. When it ended, there was a large grey and purple dragon standing there. It had a pair of expansive purple wings with claws at the top and the ends, as well as three necks, each with a different head at the end. There was a light blue head with a pointed nose. It wore a helmet that resembled a hockey helmet with an attached silver tiara. The second head had spikes on it, including its red face, as well as spikes on either side of the neck. It wore an army helmet with an attached golden tiara with prongs in a tuning-fork pattern. The final head was light beige and flat, and had a shogun-style helmet with the attached front platinum prongs resembling radio antennae. "OH NO!" screamed Dorotea. "That is the Triple Tiaraed Telga. I fought it once and barely survived. I had no idea that somehow it was re-created here. I killed it, I watched it die. With some satisfaction, I may add. Its headwear is its strength, and its weakness."

"Go my pretty," shouted a male voice, "kill, rend, maim, crush, destroy, demolish, devastate, cull. Complete Mindless Destruction, I LOVE IT! Gog, Magog, and Demagog, show no mercy, let me bathe in a geyser of their blood, let me tan myself in the fires of leveled buildings."

"That looks like one mean dragon," said Bobby. The Telga aimed the light blue head at a building, and fired a laser at it.

"Yes, what we call a telga is what the English called a dragon."

A few more scenes flashed.

Everyone was visibly nervous by the time it ended. "And this will all come true?"

"No, some of it will, some will not," said Dorotea. "The only thing I am sure about, is that that man and that woman who were blown up will be blown up. They are going to die, and there is nothing you can do about it. Because trying to save them will only mean Lusi getting killed."

"Shit," said Vanessa.

"I find it a bit hard to believe," said Korrina.

"You’d find it a bit hard to believe that a dead woman is speaking to you from a crystal, but your grandmother Maya does, and so do I. I, Sei’o Dorotea Pikaku, The Last Enagi…or at least I WAS the Last Enagi. Certain Enagi developed limited abilities to see future possibilities. I was one of them."

"Are you sure this isn’t just a joke?" asked Sami.

"I wish it was, but if I was joking, I would suddenly have a giant foot come down, or I’d say ‘A horse walks into a drink-house…’, no, ‘A horse walks into a BAR, and the drink-seller…I mean the BAR-TENDER asks why the long face?’ That would be a joke."

"So the shit is about to hit the fan, and we’ll be right underneath it, is that what you’re saying?" demanded Suki.

"Unfortunatly, it is."

"What’s that word?" asked Kuwachobee. "Oh, now I know. DAMN!"

August 20th, 2025

Lusi and Jack said goodbye to their children, who’d be looked after by Lusi’s brother Teo and Jack’s sister Tisha.

"Remember, don’t give them problems, or we’ll know about it," warned Lusi.

The entire group then left on a VTOL with the Ai’a’ivea Coat of Arms on either side. The Coat of Arms included seven stylized jewels arranged in a circle with laurel leaves between them, and within this circle was a shield. The middle of the shield had a golden jewel, and the shield itself had four quadrants, the upper left one having a crossed to’oto’o (chief’s staff) and fu’e (fly whisk), the top right having an abstract "Hand of Tagaloa", the lower left having trees, the lower right having a love fruit and a coconut. On the sides of the shield were the supporters. One of them was a large pe’a, or fruit-bat, standing upright, the other one was a version of Sara (with her rainbow wings fully open) in a light orange sarong. Beneath the shield and the supporters were many colorful flowers, along with a motto that meant "From the Seven Sisters is One Love." Above the shield was a fale, or traditional Polynesian/Ai’a’ive hut without walls. Resting atop the hut was a love-fruit tree, and atop this was a version of Lusi’s head-dress of leaves and feathers with a few jewels. Besides the Coat of Arms, there was a simpler emblem as well, closer to the front of the plane. It was a stylized golden Ai’a’ive female silhouette surrounded by the Seven Sister Crystals, and the word "Ai’a’ivea" next to it.

"I’ll enjoy China," said Sarona.

"I know you will," added Bobby.

"I think we’ll all enjoy it," said Katherine.

"They have those magnetic trains, don’t they?" asked Darryn.

"Yes, they’re called Maglevs," replied Vanessa, "But they haven’t really caught on, because you can’t share a Maglev track with a slower speed train."

"Why does China have one?"

"Because they want to be technologically ahead of everyone else. They are the only country besides Japan to have not only hover-cars, but also the extended flight-mode cars, which I personally think is quite dangerous. At least they have designated ‘air-lanes.’ Shanghai is the most developed city in China now."

"I see."

Kuwachobee and Sami were locked in a deep embrace. She had her arms and her hair around him. They kissed, then they got out of their seats, and walked to a back room.

"I think they’re up to something," commented Sarona.

"Well, Sami is wearing a lavalava (sarong) today," replied Korrina, "they’re probably going to do something. Maybe join the mile-high club."

"I prefer solid ground myself," added Bobby.

"Have you and Katherine…" began Sarona.

"How badly do you want to know?" laughed Katherine.

"Anyways," began Lusi, changing the subject, "you do have your weapons ready, right?"

"Of course," said Katherine, "the Enagi Staff is right here!"

"And I will be needed," added Dorotea’s spirit.

"Until it happens, don’t worry, just enjoy the flight," commented Jack. "You’re the best, I should know, I’ve trained you!"

The flight continued. Darryn and Vanessa cuddled up against each other, as did Katherine and Bobby. Sami and Kuwachobee eventually returned to the main sitting room of the plane, with wide grins on their faces.

Lusi looked at her husband. "If they did what I think they did, let’s also do it, the room is free, and just because I’m a Queen doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy certain things, certain things I need my husband for."

Jack had a smile, and the two held hands as they walked to the back room.

It was exceptionally warm when the plane landed in Shanghai several hours later. Everyone was excited and happy, blissfully unaware of the events that would unfold, events that would leave a major impact, events that would change their lives, events that might lead to someone’s demise.

TERMINUS!!!

Special Thanks: Izzy Insane

Author’s Notes: And so ends book eight, "The Enega warriors", however, things aren’t over for the Enega Warriors, not by a long shot. Because at the G-9 summit, things will happen. Anyways, another book in the series will come out soon, and then there’s the Second City Enforcers.

Peace out,

Le Ra’akone

And now for an announcement from Sei’o Dorotea Pikaku:

"COMING SOON, TO THE RSU: THE GLOBAL CRISIS…the entire world will become unglued…WATCH OUT FOR IT! And remember, my friends, my children, that future events such as these will happen in the future. And the future is where all of us will spend the rest of our lives…ok, not me, since I am dead. But I will NOT tell you the truth about Elvis. Or Jimmi Hoffa for that reason, you think just because I’m dead that I can answer those inane questions. But I am the guardian spirit of my granddaughter Katherine. She is the first of the new Enagi. Oh, and soon she shall master a new form. You’ll just have to wait.

Tea’a,

Dorotea
