Readers: Yeah, right...
Hey! I'm telling the truth! "Hiku Watashi no Hohoemi" means "Catch My Smile". Well, sort of. Here we go everybody!! Smiles (Readers: Sweatdrop) Oh yeah! I own all of the characters. (A/N: I know in Japan they only have like, two weeks summer vacation. But this is my story, so let's pretend they have two months and a half vacation like us. Okay?)
Hiku Watashi no Hohoemi - Episode 1: Strawberry Frosted Angel Cake with Devil Filling!
"Well, it's the last day of school. Want anything special, sweetie?"
"No, Mom. I'm good. Well, off to school for me I guess!"
"You better bring home something good!"
"Ew, Dad. Be quiet! You know I will, I always do."
"Heh-heh, okay whatever. Hurry up. Just because today's your last day doesn't mean you have an excuse to be late, Ichigo."
"Bye." Ichigo said, strapping on her roller blades and zipping out the door. She sighed as she lazily glided down the sidewalk. Normally, Ichigo would be happily grinding down rails and flying over the heads of random people, showng off her ultra cool skills. Or so she thought. But for the past week, her daily helping of jet fuel just didn't seem to be kicking in. She looked up, covering her pretty violet eyes from the harsh rays of the sun.
"Stupid sun. Just like everything else around here. Too bright, happy, and perfect." she mumbled. Ichigo Irukara felt that there was something missing in her life, excitement. But she only sighed and looked down, tucking some of her shiny shoulder-length, wavy light pink hair behind her ears, which naturally just fell back out to the sides of her face. "Well Ichigo, let's do this last day!" she pipped, rushing herself.
She jumped up over the school steps, and skated into the building. 'Marumoya High School. Ha! In your face!' she thought, smiling. She knew she wasn't supposed to skate indoors, but today was the last day. It wasn't like anyone cared. "Ooh, Irukara-san! So I guess you were telling the truth when you said you going to skate into the school on the last day, huh?" said a voice, familiar to Ichigo's hearing. Ichigo turned around, as she let her skates roll on. She smiled and put her hands on her hips. "That's right Tami-chan! No more nice Ms. Ichigo! It's time to go into total crazy- mode!" she said, putting up the peace sign. But she was only kidding with her best friend.
The one known as Tami-chan shook her head. Her name was Tamia Riruhara. She had dark navy blue hair and lime green eyes, and was a 16-year-old like her friend Ichigo. But Ichigo was older by about half a year. Tamia's smile suddenly turned into a frown when she noticed something. "Um, Ichigo." she said, running to catch up with her. Her two buns bounced as she ran. "What?" Ichigo smiled proudly, students watching as she rode on by the classrooms. "Ichigo! Aren't you forgetting? The st-"
"Huh, T - WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!"
Tamia closed her eyes as she listened to the sound of her friend painfully tumbling down the stairs. Tamia ran down them until she came to her. "I was gonng warn you..." she said, sweatdropping. "Ugh..." Ichigo moaned.
"All A's, as always right?" Tamia asked Ichigo, who nodded. "But I got a B+ in Math. It's not that it was hard or anything! It's because I didn't turn in all of my homework assignments." she said. Tamia nodded. "Heh, don't mean to say I told you so but I told you so. Doing homework's important!" Tamia said, showing off her perfect untouched A+ in Math. Ichigo sweatdropped. "Whatever..." she said, not wanting to hear it. School was over, and kids crazily flooded out of the school like birds or something...
"Let's go to my house!" Tamia said, pulling Ichigo along. They ran all the way up to a grey and white house and went inside. Tamia's house was really close to the school, so that's why they got there so quickly. The moment they got in, Tamia whipped out the video games! That's what they usualy did at her house. Play games, talk, eat, sometimes study. Ichigo stayed until Tamia's mom suggest that she leave because it was getting dark. "Yes Mrs. Riruhara. Bye Tamia!" Ichigo cried, waving. She happily skipped out of the house, and stared walking up the street.
"Wow, it's almost ten. I wonder if there's some kind of shortcut I can take to get home?" she said aloud to herself. She eyed an alleyway. It looked as if it lead up to the next block over. Yes! That would be exactly where her house was. Ichigo instantly ran over the alleyway, without thinking. Ichigo started whistling. She wasn't afraid of the dark or about being by herself. Just then, she heard a noise. It sounded like a electricity shock of some kind or something. Ichigo turned around. Nothing. She shrugged. Maybe it was a cable box or something shorting out. When she heard it again it sounded closer. This made her wonder so she tunred around again.
"What in the world is that? It's annoying!" she said. Suddenly she saw a light. Ichigo stared at it. It looked like glowing white crack... in the air? When Ichigo moved a little closer, it opened. Scared she automaticly jumped back, yelping a bit. 'What the...!' she thought. Inside it looked like some kind of red and swirly black hole. As she took a step forward to get a better view, a guy's head popped out of it. Ichigo screamed. "Ack!" she cried. He and another boy were struggling to get out of the potal- thing, Ichigo supposed. "Um... Um..." she mumbled, halfway scared and halfway confused. The first guy looked up at her. His hair was almost shoulder-length and it was black. His eyes were bright crimson red. "Hey! You, girl! Help me!" he said, scowling. He had really short, yet quite noticable fangs. Ichigo flinched.
"Wh-wh-who? Me?" she squeaked. "Yes! You! TULIP HEAD! Help me! NOW!" he yelled, his scowl deepening. Ichigo fright twisted into straightout rage. "Grr! Tulip head? I am NOT a tulip head! Who do you think you are?!" she yelled, putting her hands on her hips. She grabbed him by the neck. "Hey! Not... so hard!" he said. She pulled him out and tossed him into the nearby brick wall. The other boy jumped out. He was about the height of a 7-year- old. The black-haired guy scratched his head. "Why the hell did you do that?" he demanded to know. "Because of what you said to me! You should be grateful that I helped you!" Ichigo said, folding her arms. "Grr! Why you little -"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"
Both Ichigo and the guy looked up, since that's where the sound came from. What looked like a comet was falling towards them. "What's... What's going on?!" Ichigo wanted to know. This was all just too weird now. When it got much closer, it looked like a guy. Ichigo sweatdropped until -
SMACK!
He landed right into her. They rolled until they hit the same wall as the other guy. Ichigo stood up, dazed and hurt. "Ohhh..." she moaned, holding her head. The guy who had fallen from the sky, supposedly, stood up and began to panic. "Oh! Oh! Oh! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Oh gosh, I hurt her! I hurt her! I hurt a human girl! Oh gosh! I'm so sorry!" he cried, wailing at the top of his lungs. A light turned on in the building nearby. "SHUT UP!" they yelled, tossing a boot at the guy who was crying. He instantly was quiet the moment it hit his head. His hair was really long, silky, and white while his eyes were an amazing bright golden color. "Who... WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?! What do you want? And... where'd the heck you come from?!" Ichigo yelled, jumping up and down. It was way too much for her to handle.
The guy who had collided with her smiled. "Um... uh! Hi! My name's Nakahita Yue! I-I'm an angel from Celestia!" he pipped up happily, bouncing. Ichigo sweatdropped. Was he serious? The guy with black shot the 'angel' a nasty look. "Piece of garbage!" he snarled. The guy known as Yue frowned. "Wh- what did I do?" he whined. The other guy folded his arms. "I'm Watanabe Rikaru. I'm a devil. A demon from the Underworld!" he said. Ichigo's sweatdrop grew bigger. The youngest looking boy, who was quiet until now, spoke up. "I'm Omi-omi Mamoru! But you can just call me Omi! I'm a devil-in- training! Rikaru's my teacher and best friend!" he cried. His hair was golden blonde and his eyes were royal blue. Ichigo's sweatdrop grew even more. 'They're all crazy!!' she thought.
"P-prove it." she said. All three of them looked at her. "If all really are what you say you are, then prove it." Ichigo demanded. "Ooh-ooh-ooh!" Yue squealed, like a girl. Everyone else sweatdropped. Yue turned around. Suddenly a small pair of feathery white wings burst from his back in an explosion of light. He flapped them happily. Ichigo stared at them. "They're... real..." she gawked. The guy know as Rikaru rolled his eyes. A large pair of bat's wings grew from his back and stretched out. A devil's tail also appeared. Omi did the same, except his wings were much smaller and cuter and his tail was longer. Ichigo suddenly felt sick. She couldn't believe this. It was all too much. She didn't know whether to think it was scary, or to think it was absolutely cool.
"Um... Uh... Why are... Why are you here?" Ichigo asked, clutching her bookbag. That's when Ichigo was hit with a parade of squealing, yelling, and snarling. Ichigo couldn't hear a single thing or think with such noise. "QUIET! NOW WAIT A MINUTE!" she yelled, and all of the confusion stopped. Ichigo sighed and took a breath. "Since you guys all seem to be telling the truth, I guess... Can we do this at my house? I'm just... need to know. I mean, come on." Ichigo offered. Rikaru looked at Omi. Omi nodded. "Well, alright. If you really are that curious to know, girl." he said, folding his arms. Yue clapped his hands together in delight. "Yes! That's a great idea! Thank you miss!" he cried. "Dude, you've got to cut that junk out. That makes you sound and look like a girl, kind of." Rikaru said.
"Hey! No it doesn't!" Yue said, frowning. "Yes it does! Girly angel boy! Girly angel boy! Girly angel boy! Girly angel boy!" Rikaru teased, getting Yue a little fired up. "I am not a girly angel boy! You're... You're a big, mean dummy!" Yue said, folding his arms too. Rikaru scowled. "Grr! I'm no big, mean dummy! Take that back you angelic piece of shit! I'll rip off your stupid little chicken wings and eat them for breakfast!" he yelled. Ichigo sweatdropped and sighed. 'Why am I doing this? If they're telling the truth, I'm going to have to hide them in my room. But then that wold mean... real, live devils and an angel! Wow... And I'm the only person who knows! Heh. That's pretty cool. But...' she thought, looking behind her.
Yue and Rikaru were deep in arguement as Omi just happily skipped along behind them. She somewhat smiled. While Omi was almost too adorable to look at, Yue and Rikaru were, well, kind of hot... Ichigo looked back at her house, which was not too far off in the distance. She narrowed her eyes at the ground.
'But... I have to learn the whole story, first.'
