A little something I wrote last night on like, two hours of sleep. . . Based on an old fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty. More based on the original Grimm tale than the Disney film, with a bit of Anne Rice thrown in.

The thorns of the rose

drip blood red

on pale white,

and a witch's black curse -

unleashed.

Beautiful dreamer,

pretty little head filled with

a century of lost and broken dreams,

waiting for a prince to come.

One hundred years gone past,

forest-shaded, lying eyes spy living dead girl.

Legs parted,

flesh pierced,

and pricked.

Blood red rivers

stain royal gowns of princess-pure white,

stain downy white thighs,

and the beautiful dreamer

dreams no more.

to wake up to this
