I enter the room and no one looks up,
I am a stranger in my own home.
I sit in my room and listen to everything going on around me,
Not included, always excluded.
I listen to them talk and have dinner while I am alone,
Sitting for hours at a time as they sit together.
I enter the room and no one looks up,
I am a stranger in my own home.
Hear everything going on around me,
Always hearing all the noise but never being the one making it.
So I sit quietly, never making a sound,
So I sit in the dark, never to be found.
I enter the room and no one looks up,
I am a stranger in my own home.
I can't help but feel as though I don't know these people they call
"family",
I hear them leave but never come back,
So I try to join in but I can't,
So I close my door and shut the world out.
I enter the room and no one looks up,
I am a ghost in my own home.
