Well, just a little short story I did for school nothing too special. Please revive and if wanted (or even if not) I might make this into something like a series or something. I hope you enjoy and please review! Even flames are excepted, but I will flame right back!

Rain. Rain falling gently against tall porcelain buildings and people made of stone

complexion. They didn't care nor thought a thing of the world around them or the people

that surrounded them. To them the world was just a place. To Thanatos though it had a

different meaning. The world was a place where people lived. Where people died. He

seemed to be the only one in society that noticed the death around him. When someone

died he noticed it. Like when the old man who waited every morning at the city bus stop

disappeared, he knew he had died. Even those who had conversed with him never said a

word about him after he had died. Or at least not when Thanatos was there at the stop.

The world just seemed so wrong to him. Unjust and corrupted by politics and criminals

…and that glass monster. It was as if something from a fairy tale had appeared out of

nowhere, following him and tracking him where ever he went. Numerous occasions had

occurred where he had been fighting it, trying to stop it from harming an innocent person, and

no one seemed to notice it, but him. Not even the person it was trying to attack or his

friends. No one, but he, could see that monstrosity. Often he wondered if he were the

only one alive. Maybe everyone else was dead. Maybe only the people that were really alive

could see the glass creature. He didn't know it at the time, but he would find the truth very

soon.

It was raining again in Paradine city. The streets were covered with miniature floods and herds

people. Everyone seemed to be seeking shelter from the water ravishing the streets, the lighting

possessing the sky, and the thunder screaming of injustice to the world below. Thanatos and his

friends, Grave and Purgatory were at the graveyard though. Today was a special day for

Thanatos. It was this day ten years ago that the monster made of glass killed his parents.

Two flowers were placed at the burial site, which had never been adorned with much at all.

Thanatos could not afford much with buying his medicine, which was very costly, but crucial to

his sleeping pattern. He had horrible dreams. He could never get rid of them and could never

sleep, because of them. The doctors never quite understood why he had such nightmares, but

after looking at the descriptions the young man had written down for them they could see why

anyone would have night terrors from these visions. People being beheaded in front of his eyes

Blood spraying out in numerous gushes, covering his face and body entirely. People coming

after him chaseing him out of a good nights rest. He could feel it when they hit him in his dreams

and it was very painful to him indeed. He came out of his sleep with numerous scars and

bleeding gashes. He did not even know what was the cause of the people chasing him. They

would scream things at him, but he awoke never once remembering what they things were.

Looking down at the grave below him he posed a question to his comrades.

" Why do we live?" he asked never once looking up from the remains of his parents.

" Huh? That’s an odd question, Thanatos," the girl clad in all black responded.

" I think it's to find who we really need to be with in life. It's hard to explain…" Grave said

grabbing Purgatory around the waist, her black duster smacking in the face as he grabbed her.

" We take so much from the world, but in the end we all we have to give is our lives. What is

point in doing all this if none of it is ever remembered. What is the legacy we leave behind?

What is our true genesis? And when will it all become clear? I want to know a lot of things

before I die. Like why the world works the way it does, whether I really ever existed or not

and there is so much more I need to know," Thanatos said aloud and then whispered quietly in

a voice barely audible, " And the reason why I can see it."

"Huh? What was that last part, Thanatos-kun, I didn't quite catch it," Purgatory said withering

in Graves arms playfully.

Suddenly a chill colder than death was sent up Thanatos spine. He knew it was coming. The

glass monster. It was out to seek blood again. His back tingled for an odd reason. He knew

why yet did not at the same time. It sparked something his memory. The feeling was so familiar

it hurt inside. It began to rain. Not just ordinary rain, but rain made of glass. He definitely knew

it was here now. All of sudden a thousand shards of what appeared like a broken stained

glass window encircled him, freezing all else that moved around him. A figure appeared before

made purely out of what seemed like crystal clear glass. It looked almost human if it was clear

and had no really distinct details. It stared at him as Thanatos stared back at it. Golden yellow

met clear as they clashed together trying to harm each other in any way possible. Thanatos

growled demonically as the creature tried to take a slice at his head, which he barely escaped,

the monster cutting at the silver strands of hair which adorned his head. Thanatos took his cane

took his cane and pointed at the monster a small red laser aiming at the glass creatures center.

Before he could fire the creature knocked a blow to his head, blood gushing from his pores

knocking him to the ground with a huge thud.

" Shiiiii….t," Thanatos growled, his eyes becoming blurry and the objects around him becoming

indistinct and unrecognizable.

" Show yourself."

It was the last thing he heard before he became unconcious.

Thanatos opened his eyes. How long had been out of it? He stood up and brushed off the long

, black overcoat he wore. He sighed looking around at his surroundings. They did not seem

like the grave yard he was just in a second ago. Maybe someone had drug him into this place.

It was dark and ominous, with an odor which was famillar to him somehow. It smelled like

blood. Suddenly from out of the blue he began to walk. He did not know why he was walking,

or where to, but he knew he was not the one moving his legs. He was being lead up some

stairs. A familiar feeling presumed in his body. He felt as if he has been up these stairs many

times before. The trip that his body was making by itself though was coming to a halt as he

stopped in front of another stairwell. Thanatos stood there as if in a drunken stupor, dreaming,

yet in all actuality thinking, as his eyes began to glaze over with tears.

" Aiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!" a high pitched scream of a woman

resounded in his ears.

He snapped out of his thinking and rushed up the stairwell without a second's hesitation.

Somehow this all seemed so familiar to him, yet he never remembered doing any of it. He

found his way to the source of the scream. An apartment building in which he remembered

very well.

" 105…" he recited the number aloud. It was his old apartment.

He busted open the door, not even thinking of trying to use the doorknob. He stepped in and

saw his horrid memory. It was like a broken record with out end. What he saw at that moment

explained it all. A small child was standing over a massively bleeding woman, stabbing her

repeatedly in the heart. The smile upon the child's face was one of a person maddening over

with a vicious desire. Lust clouded the boys blue eyes as he stabbed the woman over and over

as if her screams and cries for mercy were cheering him on.

" Please…stop… Why ….? I…didn't mean…to hit you… I just had a little… too much to

drink… Please…. stop…I love you…son…" the woman's breath was raspy from what

seemed like many years of drinking, smoking, and drugs.

Her breathing stopped. The blood was finally settling on the floor along with her other fluids

in a mass pile. Thanatos screamed as the boy looked over at him. The black hair he had once

had, the blue eyes before they had turned a golden color, and the small patch on the boys

uniform that said " Sekichi Tomoe". It was him. He had been the one to kill his parents. Not

the monster made of glass. He saw a beam of light suddenly and it blinded him. He heard the

smaller version of himself growl as he and his other looked over at the light. A being was

coming out of it. He had pristine white hair, and beautiful blue eyes, which seemed to be staring

at him to the core. His whole body seemed to be made entirely of light, yet you could tell he

a human body was what he had. Beautiful pearly white wings sprouted from his back as he

stepped toward the smaller him. He looked down at him in disdain.

" You are the son of evil. You are Death itself. Your name can no longer be one of an earthly

fashion. You shall be called, Death spirit Thanatos Geist ( authors note: Roman translation

Thanatos = Death, Geist = spirit) You cannot die though. Your sins are too harsh to be

punished by merely sending you back to that which you rule. You shall spend your life on earth.

And I shall hunt you down and let you suffer a depressive life. Your life shall atone for your

sins. And let you not remember this meeting of the hunter and the hunted!" the being screamed.

The little boy screamed as the being disappeared. Sekichi fell to the ground and Thanatos

heard one last thing.

"Mother! Mother!!!!!"

Thanatos was regaining conciousness, but only half way before he could a little boy's arms

wrap around him and he heard a scream. He felt as if his back was being ripped in two with

a blunt blade. Suddenly two elephant sized, slick black wings appeared from his back. Blood

began to drip down his side as he slid a finger down and gathered some of it up on his hand,

tasting it with his tongue. Something began to surge within his body. A new feeling was

taking over. He needed human flesh and blood. He must take them away to a phantom land

with no pain and sorrow, only a place where they could feel nothing. Nothing was the best thing

of all. You could never be happy, yet you could never be sad, so he was going to destroy this

world, the domain of Usher and take them away to Gehenna, his own paradise.

" You have finally shown yourself after all this time. I have found you at last, my little wall

trophy! Wondering why you couldn't see me before? We angels are perfect beings blessed

with the grace of god himself! No human could handle our beautiful and perfect appearance, so

you could say the best thing to compare us to is glass! Perfect like glass! It's the only thing

earthly that we are nearly close enough to, so that is the form we take once we descend to

hunt down, atrocious creatures such as yourself!" the angel said in a haughty voice.

" No," Thanatos growled, " You are mistaken. You are just like humans. We are all the same.

Filled with lust and desire and other human ambitons we create war. That is why we must feel

nothing so that we never make a mistake like you self-proclaimed angels do!"

" How dare you say such a thing!!!? In the name and grace of God I shall deliver swift justice

upon you!!!! And any ways you have no right to say anything murderer!!" the angel spoke

voice filled with a vengeful rage.

" I only did what you would have done and everyone else as well. Defend myself from an

abusive situation. I'm sure you would have done the same eventually if your mother beat you

every night."

Thanatos and the angel stared at each other. Thanatos made the first move as the angel turned

to dodge it in advance.

"Treacherous demon!" the angel cried striking him in the head, landing a direct blow.

Thanatos fell to the ground with a loud crash, his head splitting in half blood pouring from it.

It was all over in a matter of seconds. Thanatos eyes rolled in to the back of his head and the

angel let out a cry of victory as he congratulated himself. His wings and entire body turned back

in to glass and he began walking back.

Suddenly a shatter of glass could be heard. The world froze and black feathers could be seen

all around once it began to move again.

People looked up in awe and some began to shot obscene words as the feathers doused their

cars completely. No one noticed that a man with long silver hair and black overcoat was getting

up from out of no where. The world was still the same. No one noticed when anyone died

and Thanatos Geist disappeared. No one remembered him at all not even those whom he called

comrades. Then many murders began. No one could explain why. All they found at the

crime scenes were the body and a single black feather.
