Blankets and Mints

When I sleep in your arms

It’s like being wrapped up

In a heavy, soft blanket

That is still warm from the dryer.

When I kiss you

I get that fresh, open-air feeling

Of that tingling, cold breath

That one gets after eating a mint.

But you left,

So, I grab a warm blanket from the dryer,

Pop a mint into my mouth.

And all is quite well with the world again.
