would you take these circles
and squares in your hands
i'm sick of relishing in these shapes
of pain without
outside aide or even
the knowledge that i can
get them back in
the basket - all healed.
(there, you've finished)

finitely, i realized
this world was one of the circles i
let you have
if only it were a square
review
repeat
relearn
i'm not retaining this information
now i won't know
for next time

i'm really through
with giving you the time of day
- "who ever said the dark wasn't good
for your soul, darling"
tonight, instead
we'll watch for star tails

geometry
isn't complex enough for the touch
of my head to your shoulder.
