I know the line that your mouths walks
is paper thin, the ice is cracking
You are walking in a line so straight
you sway from side to side, laughing

The days go by so slowly,
yet they slide by beneath your eyes at night
Compared a thousand times before
to drops of water or grains of sand, slipping out of sight

Falling down the rabbit hole,
your feet aching to touch the ground
Ringing laughs and tears are somehow echoed back at you
when you never made a sound
Free falling
Every nerve stands on end
Leaving a place you've never known
reaching a place where you'd always wanted to say you've been

You can't remember the last time you stopped
and watched the clocks change from day to day
You're asleep as soon as your head is down
It's becoming all too soon before you're awake

Can't you remember the taste of his lips
or are you already propelled forward into time
I can't remember the last time I looked to the horizon
with impatience as your eyes took so long to reach mine

Falling down the rabbit hole,
your feet aching to touch the ground
Ringing laughs and tears are somehow echoed back at you
when you never made a sound
Free falling
Every nerve stands on end
Leaving a place you've never known
reaching a place where you'd always wanted to say you've been

When you've acquired scars from cuts you don't remember
When you've acquired bruises from bumps you don't remember
When everything helps, and nothing hinders
That's when you realize
You're free falling down the rabbit hole,
your feet aching to touch the ground
Ringing laughs and tears are somehow echoed back at you
when you never made a sound
Free falling
Every nerve stands on end
Leaving a place you've never known
reaching a place where you'd always wanted to say you've been
