It's when I came to some ugly understanding. The stars twitching, like demons on fire in a giant orb, spinning continuously to free itself of flame. I inhaled the evening air of cigarette smoke and cyanide while standing brusquely outside of an old apartment building. The cracked sidewalk and uneven pavement embellishing a naked avenue of darkness and pollution. I sensed the presence of bacteria and virus creeping up me like a chill. Silhouettes skipping rocks beyond glowing street lights which only illuminated the disgusting view of a corroding dumpster outside of a warehouse. I felt on this night the urgency to fly away from here. Glass breaking, kids laughing and running down the streets. Every night, nothing is different. The unpleasant stench of garbage and city malfunction pervading the night. I could only turn to my right and wander down empty boulevards and return "home." Admiring city vibrancy from the corner of my eye. The darkness suffocates, but the artifical lighting releases. A time when people should be asleep I walk with thousands of others, craving to live and experience some form of excitement within the folds of this vast city. I however, have found nothing at all.
