Midnight Sorrow
The somber moonlight, shining bright,
pierces the jet-black sky,
all sight is lost around the world,
except to fate's unblinking eye.
The silence of my garden,
speaks louder than at day,
I hear the world around me creaking,
and the silence drifts away.
I stare in open wonder,
at the shifting midnight sky,
and think about my life;
i suddenly begin to cry.
My thoughts and feelings open,
They've been held inside too long,
my emotions start to crumble,
and my senses go all wrong.
The sky above me opens,
and water pelts my face,
i realize im not forsaken,
and start to feel at place.
The pain inside starts to lessen,
my sorrow begins to recede,
as the skies tears mingle with my own,
i realize i have everything i need.
Then suddenly the sky turns bright,
the clouds all dissipate,
the sun shines brighter than any moon,
and happiness replaces my hate.
I jolt awake with a gasp,
and adjust my eyes to the darkness that's so deep,
and then realize it was all a dream,
and collapse sadly back to sleep....
