Inside the Mind of a Perfectionist

They only see what's perfect
The thirty-second final draft
They never see my worst mistakes
That's why they never laugh

I listen to them praise
The things I do and say
Some attack with bitter envy
They don't know the price I pay

Every action born of deliberation
Slow decisions, inner debate
I try too hard
Wanting to be more than great

But it all looks effortless
No one sees the care
I put in every move
Life becomes a nightmare

I still aim past heaven
And although I still feel I fall short
They aren't the ones I want to please
I'm the judge in my own court

A/N: Okay, so I forced the last rhyme a little. Oh, well.
