In Her Eyes
Fear reflects
in her eyes,
trying to cover,
to keep up a
happy face.
But when all alone
she cowers
afraid of what's
to come;
the pain and sorrows
it will bring.
The work it takes
to hide the
truth, from
the ones who care.
And the ones who don't
are the ones who inflict
the pain,
never once looking
back.
For her my heart breaks
to see a friend in
need, but not knowing
how to react.
