A Dream of Dreaming

To dream a dream of dreaming,
Is more than sleep.
It is to see what we cannot.
To do what we cannot.
And to wish so hard
You can taste the sweetness,
Of the dream.

To mourn those un-mourned
Is to remember what others do not,
Is to become wise in the studies,
Others would not.
For who will remember
The forgotten dreamers
Who mourned what cannot come?

To think a thought un-thought
Is to birth something glorious,
An infant who will enrich the world,
And grow beyond any.
A thing so rare in any life,
Of the hurried and harried,
Who ought to think anew.

To paint a painting un-pictured
Of a land of dreams alone,
Full of light and laughter,
Peace and poems.
A world of many things
Born of a world of one
Who would paint this picture?

To dream a dream of dreaming
Is a burden few would bear.
For here reality presses closer,
Hot breath disturbing still air,
But crystalline the dream remains
For who should seek to have the life
Of a dream.
