“Ready to Fly”

A little girl wonders deep,

How in the world could this happen to me.

Standing there scared with nowhere to go,

She wants to break free and fly home.

Held completely tight,

She struggles with all her might.

Slowly sinking into a hole,

This little girl loses all control.

With everything hurting on the inside,

She breaks down and cries,

But tries to keep it all in and hide.

Not wanting anyone to see all the pain held within,

This little girl puts on a front and pretends.

To the world she is one,

But deep down she is another.

Ready to run,

Ready to find a place that is pain free,

She sits here and cries,

Waiting for that time to arrive.
