The clouds are crying a story,

Their words pounding the pavement below,

And thunder claps come as a warning,

Of lightning that's not just for show.

The clouds are weeping at murder,

Thunder is raging at hate,

Lightning then strikes out in anger,

Telling the world it will soon be too late.

The skies are telling us to look back

At all the things we've done wrong.

To see all the things we laughted at,

Knowing it wasn't right all along.

The storm knows we're not all we should be,

Knows we need to turn back now.

It's setting the hidden good in us free,

And of the Son putting us in awe.

The Son will teach us to live again,

Show us our lives are not toys.

He'll make sure we're never alone again,

Make sure we're full of God's joy.
