All the day, she laughs and plays.
And comes home with an empty head.
She eats her dinner,
In complete silence,
And then does the dishes,
Her only license.
Then she walks up the stairs,
And into her room,
She collapses on the floor,
Tears that come to soon.
She sits back up
Back against the wall.
Surrendering to her pain,
Surrendering to it all.
She looks around,
For some kind of comfort,
And never finds it,
So she lets it hurt.
Pain surging through her veins,
Blood lines that make her lame,
Brain pounding in constant pain,
In this life,
She has no gain.
Friendships failed and lost for her,
People that always lure,
Questions asked,
Answers never returned,
Love was found nowhere for her.
She thinks and thinks and thinks,
Poisoning her thoughts with death,
Seems to be the only bet,
And yet she sits and cries,
And carries on this pitiful life.
Letting be molded,
Letting be ordered.
Pretending to like it,
Not daring to fight it.
She feels lost and alone,
Having love just out of her grasp,
It always being pulled away from her,
In just one single snap.
She searches for a place,
Maybe even a face.
A place of her own,
A face of her own.
This empty child,
This empty girl,
Knows her problem is small,
But it doesn't stop her from the fall.
The guilt she feels,
No one can see.
She hides it well,
And people think she is swell.
She crawls to her bed,
Helps herself up,
Watching the shadows move around her,
She attempts to pray.
And she remembers a girl,
Who did the same for her,
She feels the tears come back,
The girl pulled out her heart,
She falls on her bed,
Not caring to dry her tears,
Closes her eyes,
And enters her lies.
She means to do well,
She truly does.
But it's just hard.
Her life's written on a card.
The once free soul,
Inside this girl,
Was like a young foal,
Always running
Always heard.
But now it is a trapped soul,
Screaming in silence,
To come out of the coal,
And wipe the ashes.
If only the love.
That she keeps on finding.
Doesn't fall or slip away,
Far from it's binding.
If only the life,
That she once believed in,
Found it's way back to her,
A day with no sin.
She wakes up in the morning,
Eats her breakfast,
Walks out the door,
Greeted by her friends.
She looks back on it all.
The way she spends her nights and days,
This Empty Child,
Don't let her walk away.
