Forever They Fall

Beginning with a mere drizzle
Maybe a little numb, frozen in place
Like the crystalline dewdrops in the windowpanes
Super-cooled, patterned into a work of art,
Beyond the window and the barren landscape
Gray stratosphere stretching still
Forever,
Then sitting on the delicate treetops
Shrouding the vista, fogging the mirrors, and now here
They come- they curl, the spin, they swirl
Drift along in their crazy downward dance
Tiny, sugar-spun flecks, white as angel wings
Fast flying towards the horizon,
They go on forever and forever they
Fall
