CRIMINAL AFFECTION

They are obvious defects
To my brain and my ears
Those affects and effects
That bring me to tears

Effect: a noun
And sometimes a verb
To make me frown,
Somewhat perturbed

Affect: a verb
And sometimes a noun
Is that the right word?
I'm all turned around

When posing a verb:
Effect is to cause
But when changed to a noun:
Results (maybe flaws?)

When posing a noun:
Affect: an emotion
But when changed to a verb:
To influence (what commotion!)

They have affected the sane
Like a disease that is terminal
And they've effected change
In a way that is criminal

With affect and effect
Mistakes are prospective
I've caught it too:
The confusion's infective!
