blame

as gentle as her embrace
you touch defeat, cherish its breath
staring helplessly into the flames
(you did this to life)
but still accuse with a sigh
cutting wrists on your throat
adoring the fake in my eyes
when I smile at the dying candle-
we both know I'll never be the northern star.
