Midnight blue

The clouds slowly dawn on a new sky
Twilight fades into being
And a crimson kiss stains the air.

I watched the world with every second I possessed
Every taste of this amazement,
It could all be forgotten for nothing.

Taken as a dream
To wander off to nowhere
Left alone in the far reaches of mind.

I wanted my fate a different tale.
Yet I felt my reflection fade
Transparence licked my flesh.

The warm razor of decayed
Slid across my throat
Gently slicing yesterday away.

Compassion bled from every wound.
Numbing the transformation
Deadened my silenced rebellion.

As I turned to stone
All I could do
Was watch the world fade.

.
Darkening past a midnight blue
Into the depths of apathy.
