Prologue: Limits of a Cloud -
“It is this belief in a power larger than myself and other than myself which allows me to venture into the unknown and even the unknowable.” - Maya Angelou

Curiosity can make a person fly. I know, because I’ve always wanted to fly. Everyday, I would lay myself down in the sands and ponder about how it would feel like to touch those clouds, or even the stars. I would tell to myself that every night.
I live in Lush Island, my home. Or the only place that I ever knew. I live here all my life with my other four friends that I truly love with all my heart. We are really close and never apart. That’s what I like about this place, is being with them any time of day. That’s practically the best part of being alive, it would seem.
So what is Lush Island? I wouldn’t imagine anyone who ask that question, because everyone I know live here. I mean, is there anywhere else that people could be living? Anyways, Lush Island is our tropical home. Everything is made out of pottery clay or wood, including our beloved houses. The island is surrounded in green trees and exotic ferns that could only exist here. It’s mainly for our warm weather all the time. I’ve heard legends from the elders that during winter season, not only does the skies go dark, but clouds get together and water fall from the sky.
Well, that doesn’t happen here. We’re very fond of our sun and never has it betrayed us.
Oh, and did I mention our beach? We have white sands that borders our home. The sands are warm and very inviting. Usually, my friends and I like to jump in and enjoy ourselves in the cool waters. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just natural. The waters are transparent and we always see fishes and dolphins swimming with us. They’re friends too.
But things shouldn’t be taken for granted. We never realized how beautiful are home is. For fourteen years, we’re now familiar to this land and then it got to the point that we won’t look at it anymore. We won’t take what it has to offer cause we’re selfish like that. It’s just human nature that we took things that we already have for granted, that we took each other for granted. And it was just human nature that we have the curiosity that could make us fly. . . .
