A single moment frozen in time
Do I stay or do I climb?
Reach for the spotted quilt above,
Or stay near to the ground I love?
Something calls me higher still
Drawn with a purpose to fulfill
I listen like a novice child
Allow my instincts to run wild
Carry me away, head and heart
How'd I end up so far from start?
Now clinging to my lofty perch
Digging my claws into the birch
Scared as a kid on Halloween
Seeing things that aren't there to be seen
I'd look like a ghost if I could pale
But I an but one tone from head to tail
While praying for my saving grace
I long to see my owner's face
Through the leaves, my cloaking veil
I do hear my owner's hail
A trembling mew, my only plea
That they get me out this tree
