A/N: The first person I showed this to thought that it was a mushy, romantic, happy poem written for my boyfriend (well, now ex). In truth, this is one of the saddest poems I've ever written, because I based it on something I went through at that time. Have you ever written something to someone? Something so honest, and so true that it really breaks your heart to write it, then you realize that you can never give it to that person? And so you get rid of it. You rip it, burn it, throw it away, whatever works. And it's forgotten. This is about that.
~*~nothing but a letter~*~
[by Bunny-Chan]
nothing but a letter
in an envelope and bow
nothing but a letter
ready to mail with nowhere to go
nothing but a letter
finished and perfected
nothing but a letter
surely unexpected
nothing but a letter
which took my heart and freed it
nothing but a letter
and no one will ever read it
nothing but a letter
written to be true
nothing but a letter
this letter is for you
