LONER

Loner sitting in a sad room

Thinking of suicide and gloom

*

Loner gazing in the mirror

And turning away with a shiver

*

Loner craving company

But cursed with invisible infamy

*

Loner walking in the rain

Shedding salty tears of pain

*

Loner talking to no one

And avoiding the stinging sun.

*

Loner, please tarry a while:

You have walked for many a mile

*

Those who made you cry

Now wring their hands and sigh

*

You made it to many things

And they – to nothing!
