Tempting shadows

I murdered my dreams of salvation
Knowing full well my choice
I was shackle to my thirsty desire.

Bounded by crimson and greed
I forged a link with every breathe
A hunger with a child's appetite
And an immortal's patience.

With every drop of darkness
A sweet temptation
Damning my rebellion.

I was only released
Only by feeding on the shadows
And cutting my veins just to drink again.

A want without vision
Nor the understanding for my degradation
A self inflicted torment
Only to end in regret.

I craved an angel's shadow
To shatter this reality
And fade just beyond the horizon of twilight.
