People are always telling me to look at the bigger picture, and to stop getting lost in the details. However, I strongly believe that the bigger picture cannot exist without the smaller things.

The Bigger Picture

A hope, a wish, a dream,
A ray of dazzling light,
A drop of velvet blood,
A slice of dreary night.

A melting sheet of snow,
A room so warm inside,
A lie that says you're loved,
A tattered shred of pride.

A salty, red-hot tear,
A heart now torn in two,
Shattered disposition,
The pieces are from you.

A shooting star, a moon,
The glisten of a knife,
Footprints in the sand,
These things all make up life.
