Abortion

Clutching my head,

Trying to keep it in place,

As I try to remember why.

A mistake I made,

Blinded by the soft touches and whispers of love,

I let myself be pulled into his arms.

Lost in a world of sheets and darkness,

I forgot about everything else,

The consequences and the pain.

I don’t tell him,

Pretending everything is alright,

Giving him my love,

My never ending devotion.

In return he gives me his love,

His devotion and trust,

He told me of his dreams and goals.

Under a starry night sky,

I asked him his dreams as a father,

…he dreamed of having a family with me,

But he not just yet.

I cried and I screamed,

I stared and I scratched,

I let myself be wounded.

I had to let go of my child…

Our child,

A son…

He never found out,

He still loves me,

As I do him,

But my secret is pulling me down.

One day,

I know I’ll be found out,

As I slowly fall deeper into darkness.

A/N: This is loosely based on my own experience, and more on someone else’s. I was going through writer’s block… excuse the un-like-me sorta writing. I think.
