Nothing Matters - Poem - Sept '04

Nothing matters
When I hold that blade
That shines brighter than
The diamonds you brought me
Above my wrist
And then
Press
Down
I feel that rush
The release
Of the pain
Fear
Hurt
That has been consuming,
My very soul
As the blood
As crimson and beautiful
As the dress you made me wear
Runs over my once
Flawless body
Mixing with my tears that never
Dry
Cleansing my soul,
Soothing my mind,
And onto the crisp white sheets,
Of the supposed
Heaven
Where you left me.
Nothing matters
When my smile falters.
