We The People...

You say that America is corrupted

You feel that the people in it are blind followers

You think that we are the bad guys

And you wish you lived anywhere else

You say you hate America because it is evil

You state that one cannot speak the Pledge without being a hypocrite

I know

That you could just as easily move away

As complain about what a Hellhole this country is

But that you won't

Because you were born here and it is what you know

So you feel you can speak with a voice of knowledge

I say

That America is not its leaders

I feel

That America is an idea

I think

That we used to be something else entirely

And I believe

That we can be that again.

You have given up on our country

But I never will

I am the true American

You just live here.
