Entice

And from the lip my heart is thus enticed
At once it seemed to
Stop beating here
And now with great zeal I
Thrust my courage forward
Into the sea of perfection

Where the sunflower in all magnificence
Turns to dust within the
Light
The radiance that blacked out the stars
As green fields turned invisible
Before thy sight
As night thus transformed
From dust to dawn
I see the crimson sun in the
Horizon

So perfect before the unharmed rose
The rose that sprung forth from
A bed of weeds

You are a rose
So fine by nature
By human nature you are
Almost divine

In awe I stand
Still
Riveted to stone
My sandals have grown too heavy with
Rocks that surround my path

And here I stand a foot away
And soon I come
A breath away

I lay my lips upon
Your perfect ones
The ocean of sunshine out of the haze

As further in I drift
The lightning and thunder thus
Revealed to me
As inward I glance
The petals do
Unfold
And the leaves
Part for the thorns

So fine were the petals
And smooth were the
Thorns
The fineness of a needle
Hold infinite pricks
As my finger lay resting upon the
Thorn

The thorn so fine
Under the flower
Lay concealed as always until
I gazed in deeper
As slowly my lips do
Depart
Reality spun back into
My world

And now I've seen enough of
This rose
Too much that
I can't sleep anymore

And now I know the truth
Underneath a rose
So fine
So pure
So enticing

So dangerous
