I remember days gone by,
Of times spent in misery,
Yet the reflection in the pond,
Seems so peaceful and serene,

Looking at the world,
I smile and laugh,
Basked with life,
With no worries on my mind,

I laugh,
And I smile,
And I dance,
With the people I meet,

Who welcome me,
To their festivities,
With innocent smiles,
Of joy and happiness

I pray to the powers that be,
That someday I will be able to,
Return the favour,
To the countless who,

Have corrected me,
Who have listened to me,
Who have cared for me,
Especially to those who love,

For I have awaken,
From a long slumber,
Poisoned in the mind,
With no remorse I expunged,

I hope this lasts,
And I hope it is forever,
Coming from this jaded heart of mine,
I want to make it forever.
