Goodbye Childhood

I leave the Spider on the wall
Watching over the empty halls
The sole witness of the past
From timid first steps
To a life moving too fast

From pudgy fingers soaring
To ageless laughter roaring
He who's heard it all
My sacred Spider on the wall

Through my tears you blur away
I want to hold on and force you to stay
Or go back to those days
Where laughter flourished
And dolls were nourished

My cloud of safety
My spider on the wall
He was here to witness it all

It's time to say adieu
For I have been forced to outgrow you.
