Watching lady of the morning.
She sees my eye unclose
And she knows my fright of the shadow;
The earth has yet to turn its face unto the sun.
The dimness still seems deep
And night is apparent,
But for the spark of pale fire
Burning upon high.
And I know then
That the morn is nigh.
