The gentle falling rain
Threw a soft mist over the horizon
The whole town blanketed
Under the hazy gray illusion
The cold sunshine
Made the raindrops sparkle
Like jewels falling from the sky
I kept one of the jewels
To give to you
But it evaporated.
Shimmer;
Picked up a giant paintbrush, and
Dipped it into the melted pool of
Colourful jewels
And painted an arc across the horizon
The colours exploded
Turning it into a bridge of colours
Do you see it?
Let's walk across it
Holding hands
And find the pot of gold
At the end
Crystal-clear raindrops
Suddenly stopped
Falling from the sky
The shower of jewels gone
A breeze blew
The sun shielded by a passing cloud
The golden rays shone no more
And the bridge collapsed
Our childhood fantasies
Evaporated into vapour
Like the falling jewels
Our dreams and aspirations
Collapsed into dust
Like the arc in the sky
And we faded into the darkening horizon
Turning into a star in the sky
A sparkle of gold.
A/N: The title of the poem, L'arc en ciel, means "the arc in the sky" in French, and is also the name of a Japanese J-rock band. Hope you liked this, Vionna.
