A CANDID MEMORY
Truth be told, I've tried my best at hearing
the chirping of the street sparrow
Of my own accord I got entangled in this
flaming game;
Yet the heavens bent and shielded my
soul--shredding my heart with autumn leaves
T'was too long a painful fight: actually
listening to my heart's deepest desire...
Of love or war I will not remember
For if her looks could kill
I'd have a vacant mind last September
How I wish I'd held the moonwhite beauty and
pondered on
All of time in goodness spent
Trying to convince her
No matter what, love is innocent.
