Just missing you

I'll write it down,
but I know it'll sound silly.
There, it's done.
No taking it back,
no erasing the words.
And I'll finish it,
with a flourish and a bow.
The simple thought,
makes me come unglued
"Just missing you."

And I'll dial your number,
dreading the moment
you pick up the phone.
The words that I'll say,
sound empty,
and wrong.
Come to think of it,
sounds like a song.
And as they leave my mouth,
I come unglued.
"just missing you"

And it's been so long,
I can hardly remember
How you smell,
or taste,
or feel.
And it may sound silly,
but it's the honest truth,
I'm just missing you.
