Hammer could hear the snorting breaths of his prey as he made his way to the lip of the cliff. They were called buffalo, a very tasty creature from the Human world. Over there they had been considered a rarity, but here they strive to the level of pests. Plains Neclons don't care though. they made good meals and were fun to hunt. Hammer cast his gaze about to find the rest of his hunting party.
Perched on a rock on the opposite cliff top was Ark, below him Veil. Looking to his own right Hammer could see Muse.
'1,2,3,. Someone's missing. Tiger!'
"Dammit!" Hammer breathed as he searched for the pup. A howl in the distance stopped that wondering.
As usual Tiger was charging head first at the herd of buffalo sandwiched in the shallow canyon below, setting them in a panicked frenzy to turn about, making it much too dangerous to pounce. So the rest of the pack instead was forced to run along the cliff edges beside the stampede to get ahead for an ambush at the exit.
Sitting on an outcrop at the outlet of the canyon, halfway between the ground and the rim, Hammer sat waiting to give the signal to his pack mates who waited below to herd the buffalo towards a dead end, the old weapons warehouses and factory, its fences made for a perfect cage to capture victims.
Tiger's pace had slown lots from chasing the buffalo as he staggered out of the canyon to watch Ark, Veil, and Muse chase their quarry elsewhere. Hammer jumped off the ledge onto his young cousin, biting a hold of his scruff and twisting his arm behind him.
"OWWWW! ARGH...! Hammer! Stop!" Tiger whined.
Letting go the older Neclon fumed, "I swear sometimes if you weren't my kin." and then smacked him upside the head saying, "Come on."
"But I don't want to run anymore." Tiger whined further.
"You should of thought of that EARLIER." Hammer snorted as he pulled the pup along with him.

When the caught up to the others, Hammer wished he had stayed back like Tiger asked. The pack had caught the buffalo, but something else had caught them. Looking at the carnal scene made Tiger gag and cough, turning away. Hammer looked about for the culprit of such a slaughter and notice that atop the once dead fences was many spinning communication disks and jerky sentinel guns. fully active.
Tiger had started to cry.
"Don't you dare." Hammer started to warn but it was too late. A long agony laced howl of respect issued from the young Neclon.

Instantly 3 sentinels snapped to attention aiming right at them and the earth around them was peppered by miniature explosions as bullets whizzed past them. Grabbing Tiger Hammer ran. He heard stories of the time of guns and knew only one way to be safe from them. fleeing.
Far out of range Hammer stopped. Fatigue was beginning to settle in his muscles. After one hunts they normally must eat and then rest before they can be back to top condition, but the two Neclons were yet to have that luxury.

A sound like growling made Hammer turn to see an odd carriage that moved with out a stead charging towards them, another gun positioned upon its back.
Once more bullets bit at their heels as they ran as if the legions of Set were following. Not much further did they make it before Tiger issued a pained yelp, his lagging pace no longer keeping his legs from getting mowed out from under him. Instinct caused Hammer to slide to a stop turning sideways he felt the bite of bullets up his right leg and arm. He fell clutching the wounds. 'This is the end.' he thought and then there was a miracle, the Gatling gun continued to whirl but no bullets issued. They were out of ammo.!
One man jumped from the Jeep, grabbing a shovel he raised it ominously above his head and was just about to swing it down when he was blasted away by a fire ball from Tiger.
Another man jumped from the Jeep to help the fallen man and was about to pick up where the first had left off when the third said, "Leave them. they're as good as dead in the middle of the desert like this anyway." So the other piled back into the Jeep and they left.

"Hammer. I can't. walk. anymore." Tiger groaned.
Still clutching his arm, Hammer dragged himself over to sit next to his mangled cousin.
"You can use magic, can't you heal it?"
"I can only heal muscle. those things shattered my bones." he moaned, "and even then, that much magic use would kill me when I'm in this condition. I might be able to."
"Tiger don't you." but Hammer stopped his warning, it was too late. He could feel the sting of the bullets being pushed from his muscle as it regenerated itself. Watching helplessly, Hammer could see his cousin's life dwindling and then finally disappearing as the pup collapsed into his lap.
Tears stung Hammer's eyes as compressed sobs shook his big frame. Clutching his dead cousin close to him he let out his own mournful cry.. He was alone now.
