Shores of Solitude

I relax in peaceful bliss

on these Shores of Solitude

calm waves of blankness comfort me

and soothing blankets of sand cover me

on the shore, the coast, the brink of losing myself

in this imaginary paradise

how easy it would be to escape the rest of it all

and canoe off into the early sunrise

of my illusory romance…

paddling with the current of my fantasy

in smooth, complying strokes

I feel like the wind, a spirit

that lulls birds to sleep

and neither do I

want to wake from this dream

want to drift away…

the gentle scent of saltwater engulfs me

the serenade of song enraptures me…

and the flowing sands of time re-capture me.

my moment of free eternity has passed.

as I find myself still on the Shore,

in the company of my own Solitude.

This was done for an English assignment…probably not my best work.
