The Story of a Rabbit
Once upon a time, there was a forest where many animals lived. A great dragon ruled over everything. The animals all obeyed Dragon. One day a new creature came into the forest. A young hare. Little Rabbit lived in the forest for only a few days, when Dragon called all the animals for a weekly meeting. At these things, the animals of the forest all lined up, and Dragon walked down the row and would “shake” each of their hands in his own fashion. This meant placing one set of claws on top of them and growling lightly, his way of saying hello. Dragon did this to each in turn, and even the smallest creature didn’t move, shudder or shed a tear during all of it. When he came to Little Rabbit, he did the same thing. But Little Rabbit was scared, and yelped when the Dragon’s claws pierced his flesh on accident, and shed several tears as timid and fragile creatures do. Dragon became enraged by this, for as anyone knows, dragons do not like water. In his anger, he spurted hot angry flames that charred Little Rabbit’s fur to a black crisp. Horse saw this and stepped up, to try and protect Little Rabbit, but Dragon easily forced the hoofed creature back to it’s place in line. Because of the burns, Little Rabbit cried again, angering Dragon further. this time he swiped down and raked his claws across Little Rabbit, cutting her ears short. The blood from her cut ears dripped into her once green eyes and stained them. The burning of her eyes caused her to turn and try to run away. Dragon grabbed her fluffy tail and held on, stretching it into a smooth lanky tail. He then sputtered another bout of flames before releasing her. She ran off, and sat down far away. Staring at her reflection in a pool of water, Little Rabbit looked nothing like what she once was. So, she changed her name to Black Cat. She returned and simple learned, not to cry in front of Dragon, for his forked tongue and fiery words, were cruel.
