Departure

Dressed in vivid red robes with an embroided golden dragon,
Making his way up towards your white face and chopsticks,
While I sit in jeans and a t-shirt, clutching a bag of chips,
You totter around as though your feet were tightly bandaged,
Gloat about all the strange delights you will encounter,
And promise to save me a picture of the giant pandas,
Maybe even learn to cook Chow Mein for me if you have time,
But I doubt you'll even notice that I'm not there.
