Coming and Going

Violet watched them from a distance as they exited the town and began towards the Dark Wood forest. She had heard many bad things about those woods and knew that it probably would be best if they had someone looking out for them on their long trek through it. With a small sigh of sadness she began to follow after them silently.

Alexis lead the way as Wenonah and Arch followed and Tyson trailed along at the end. None of them really cared about his sudden silence or hardly even noticed since Arch and Wenonah and the odd sounds of the forest kept them busy enough. They continued their not so little trek through the woods and slowly Tyson came around though neither him nor Arch spoke. They all found the silence rather unnerving as they continued when suddenly they heard a rope like sound beginning to echo around them. They all began to look around cautiously when suddenly something grabbed a hold of Tyson’s foot and began to drag him away. He screamed and began to flail, Wenonah gasped and was soon wrapped up in vines as well. Alexis quickly came to her rescue which left Arch to cut, Tyson, the person he’d rather watch die, free. Arch quickly cut the vine and pulled Tyson back towards the others as they all huddled together. They all waited for a couple of seconds as the vines created a wall around them, nothing looking as though it could get in or out when suddenly they heard a loud noise from out side, it sounding like something was either crawling or dragging on the round when suddenly the walls began to open and a monstrously toothed giant green bulb began to slid it’s way in there towards them. They all stood ready to fight the giant monster when suddenly they heard something else coming towards them. They watched the bulb suddenly cry out in pain as Violet quickly came into view. Wenonah smiled softly towards her and she smiled back before the bulb began to thrash violently as vines came spiraling down, threatening to entangle her. She quickly cut the vines and looked to Tyson.

“Throw me your sword!” she said quickly when he stood there for a second, contemplating weither or not to do it when finally he drew it and threw it towards her. She went to grab it but the vines beat her to it. As if they were just coming out of a daze the others began to fight as well. Alexis ran over to Violet’s side and sliced some of the vines which held the sword. She smiled softly in appreciation before grabbing a hold of the sword and slicing the rest of the vines off. Both her and the sword fell to the ground, her quickly turning over and going to crawl over towards it when a couple of the vines grabbed a hold of her and tied her down. She growled angrily and then called over to Arch who was currently fairly busy when suddenly Tyson, of all people, came and grabbed his sword and quickly cut her loose. She looked up at him and nodded before getting to her feet.

“Go get it, Tyson,” she said, placing a hand on his shoulder before another one of the vines grabbed a hold of Violet’s hand.

“Go!” she yelled before cutting it off and back away from another bunch of them.

Tyson drew up his sword and quickly ran towards the giant green monster, him swinging his sword angrily towards the vines that swung and lashed out at him. Within minutes he was in front of the giant beast, it sliding and snapping at him wildly before he found and open moment and jumped onto it, using his sword to make it that rest of the way up. He stood on top of the monster and quickly jabbed his sword into it’s soft head before pulling the blade down and running it down until he had successfully cut the things top in half, the right and left sides splitting open as it’s juices spilled out all over the place, the vines soon dropping to the ground harmlessly. Everyone turned to look at Tyson while he just shrugged and grinned. Nothing more was said before they continued on through the forest. Violet looked over at him and smiled, him smiling back before she turned around and began to walk away. He sighed softly and then looked down at his sword and quickly put it away before grabbing a hold of Violet and turning her around. She looked at him curiously, Arch watching him with a raised eyebrow and a suspicious look.

“Violet. Thanks. And.. I’m sorry,” he replied when she nodded and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“It’s ok, anyone can make a mistake,” she replied when he nodded.

Arch placed a hand on Violets shoulder and she looked over at him and smiled. Tyson looked at Arch with an unreadable expression and then went on ahead. Arch watched him go, his eyes watching him suspiciously before his attention turned back to Violet.

“So.. How’re you?” she asked when he shrugged.

“I’m alright. You?” he said when she nodded.

“The same,” she replied when Wenonah came back with them.

“I was scared that you weren’t going to come back,” Wenonah said with a small smile.

“Really? Why’s that? Is there something you want?” Violet asked when the girl nodded.

“I’d like to know your origin’s, where you came from. It’s said that a creature like you, combined with the wisdom of an elf, could bring my people their holy land,” Wenonah explained when Violet looked down at the ground thoughtfully.

“Well actually I have no clue where I came from but if I remember anything I’ll be sure to tell you,” Violet said weakly when Wenonah nodded.

“Ok, thanks,” she replied before running back up to the front with Alexis.

The five of them continued to walk through the woods quietly, listening and watching for anymore signs of danger. Wenonah gripped her tan leather bag tightly as the small but decorative beads rattled softly. She sighed and looked around the tops pf the trees curiously, her feeling a presence nearby but didn’t know weither to classify it as good or evil, it seeming to be rather confused. She slowly came to a stop, everyone walking past her casually. No one really thought much about it as she straggled along behind them when suddenly a shadowy figure appeared in one of the trees, him pulling a vine towards him and swinging down. Wenonah gasped and held her hands up in front of her face when she felt the guys arms encircle her and lift her up into the air with him. The group turned around and watched as the man landed in another tree and drew a sword and pointed it down towards them.

“Haha! I have the Indian princess! Now surrender or prepare to fight me you band of mostly scrawny men!” the familiar voice called when Violet gasped.

“I’m not a man!” she yelled up at him angrily when he looked down at her while squinting down at Violet.

“So you are..” he said with a shrug. “Now fight me or I’ll slice her to pieces!” he continued when he was punched roughly in the jaw. He stumbled but soon regained his balance before he turned to look at her just in time to receive another heavy punch in the face. His arms wind-milled before he fell off the branch and landed on the ground with a loud thud. Wenonah grinned down at him in satisfaction before climbing down the tree to join the others.

“Wenonah! That rocked!” Violet said as she lifted a hand, them clapping them together and laughing. The guy crawled out of the bushes and was soon surrounded by the male half of their company ash Arch grabbed the guy by the shirt and then lifted him up high.

“This is what you get for calling my woman a man!” he said as he drew his arm back and then let him go, the thrust of the punch throwing him back away from him. Violet looked at him and smiled before the two women joined their other four companions. Alexis and Tyson hardly had the time so see who it was that both Wenonah and Arch was smacking around when finally he fell on the ground in front of them.

“Cyrus!?” Alexis exclaimed before he watched a dark, serpent dragon, shadow rise up out of the dark knights body. Everyone one was silent for a couple of seconds before he began to stir and slowly came to.

“Cyrus? Are you ok? What happened?” Tyson asked, both Violet and Arch somewhat shocked that someone like him could be so concerned about someone which wasn’t himself. Cyrus looked around at them all before his troubled gaze landed on Wenonah. He took her hand and kissed it softly before rising to his feet.

“I’m sorry My lady, Wenonah, for I was put under a spell by that witch, Leela,” Cyrus explained when she nodded and then punched him in the head.

“I’ll forgive you this time but next time.. You won’t be so lucky,” she replied when he nodded.

“Ok, I’ll remember that,” he said when Alexis placed a hand on his shoulder to grab his attention.

“What would Leela want with Wenonah?” the elf asked when Cyrus turned to him.

“Well, other then the fact that she’s one of the only magic users in the group, she’s a very jealous person and would like to knock off all of the girls in this group,” he said when Violet growled.

“Well then why did you call me a guy!?” the neko fairy asked angrily when Cyrus grinned slightly and took a couple of steps towards her.

“Because, even though you’re a skilled fighter and an awesome magic user, you get really distracted and become an easy target when you’re frustrated,” he replied when she sighed.

“Oh,”

Cyrus laughed and took a hold of her hand before Arch grabbed his hand tightly everyone able to hear the bones in Cyrus’s hand popping and snapping.

“Don’t.. touch her,” he said angrily, his eyes flaring dangerously when Cyrus smiled innocently.

“And your weakness is your jealous and overprotectiveness,” Cyrus replied when Arch released his hand and placed an arm around Violet and pulled her close to him quickly, it almost knocking her off her feet.

“Well I view it as a strength,” Arch said defiantly before Violet sighed and shook her head.

“Indeed,” Cyrus replied before turning back to Wenonah.

“Well my princess, I must be going,” he said before he bent down and kissed her hand once again.

“I hope that our paths cross again,” he replied when she nodded. Tyson watched as Cyrus rose up and began to walk away when he ran after him.

“Wait! I want to come with you!” he yelled when Cyrus looked at him and was silent for a couple of seconds.

“What!? But Tyson!” Wenonah said quickly when Cyrus nodded. Alexis was silent before he stepped forward.

“Cyrus! What ever happened to Drake?” he called out loudly.

“He’s with his sister in the next town!” Cyrus yelled back as he continued on. Alexis nodded and then turned away from them.

“Ok, lets go,” he said strongly before slowly they all turned and followed his lead, onward through the forest.
