What will last forever,
Enduring beyond us,
Going ever and ever on.
What will still be,
When we are gone,

What is eternal,
Never fading, never dying,
What will never wither,
Crumple up and die.
What shall remain,

What can survive that cruel embargo.

What is immortal,
What never ends,
What goes on and on,
Till the world ends.
What shall remain,
What shall endure,
Hope? Will last forever more.

Yet to be immortal,
Eternal, lasting forever,
Never changing, never dying,
I would not wish this,
Upon my deepest enemy,
Watching it grow old, fade
And to die, yet this.

.this every mortals desire,
to go on to survive,
but why, life grows dull,
Interest lost on souls pyre,
the spirit chained to life,
Is freed in death-released,
To float among the stars.

Then is the soul freed,
To dance with Terpsichore,
To sing with joy,
Free from pain, mortal suffering,
Immortal, never-ending, enduring,
Lasting forever, going on and on,
Eternal.
