Her words cut with such precision,
experienced in this execution-style heartbreak.
Some would say that it was quick and painless,
but I've only wished that were true.
When you know death is imminent,
it looms, & the shadow fills your life.
And it's a sick dread,
becoming less meaningful as time limps by.
When her harsh words bit in,
I grabbed hold of them,
as a means to an end.
a little like suicide
and I only hoped that she would cut me free,
smooth & clean,
yeah, suicide with a nice sharp knife.
