Deathnote
Dawn is breaking
Another day of eternity.
I cross out the
Thousand tomorrows
That still have yet to pass
Would you believe me
If I said that I'm still waiting?
You left with a smile that
Sealed the promise you whispered in my ear
And I sunk into the depths of your sunshine-filled smile
Foolishly falling for that lie
I've known for so long that
All this is just a fantasy, but
I still choose to blindfold myself from the truth
And sit by the windowsill everyday
Gathering the sun's rays, each of which
Contains the same smile of yours
That you bestowed on me that fateful day
They call for me to return
And draw the curtains
But I know that fantasies do come true
If I would believe in the enchanted moment that's
Coming
I know that you'll come back
And take me away from my home
I don't know why I'm crying now
But I know that when you finally return
I would be shedding tears of joy
I tore up the letter that the messengers
Brought to me; it felt like yesterday
The flowing, liquid-like handwriting of yours
It whispered in a language I couldn't understand
I know you didn't write that letter
Because you promised to return
Give me the speed of unicorns
Give me the wings of an eagle
Give me a pen to cross out the
days between us
So that I may see your smile
once more
We're more than a million
stars apart, but
We're more than just two
people
We're more than ordinary
And I know that our love will
stride over the distances
To bring us together again
I watched the sunset fade away
And I listened to the soft murmurs of the shadows
I heard the footsteps echoing through the hall
And I smiled, my cheek wet with tears
You've come at last, my love.
She turned around and
embraced Death.
